Upon the commencement of the oil extraction factory, the following three ensuing sub-projects should be initiated without any delay:
- The project of producing ethanol-based automobile brake fluid.
- The project of producing organic bacterial manure.
- The project of breeding castor silkworm eggs, raising silkworms, and processing silk.
A national-level Castor Scientific Research Institute should be established in Sri Lanka with the following purposes upon the large-scale expansion and successful planting:
- To cultivate and screen new high-yielding and high-oil-content castor varieties that are most suitable to Sri Lanka for promotion and expansion islandwide.
- To research the comprehensive utilization of the stems/stalks, leaves, and roots of castor.
- To research and develop high-yield and high-efficiency castor cultivation technologies and the all-inclusive mechanized production methods and necessary auxiliary techniques.
- To study and promote the cultivation of color castor oil plants (red, orange, yellow, green, cyan, blue, and purple) and the beautification of tourist attractions by embellishing them with eye-catching color castors.
- To study the deep processing and full utilization of raw products of castor oil.
Being a special and magical oil crop, castor oil plant boasts a bright future as the oil extracted from this seemingly unremarkable crop can be deep-processed and further utilized to create a large industry that has never been seen in Sri Lanka.
